Loestar is on hold for the time being, since I found that I can do a hell of a lot darker stuff with Megaman X-based RPs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is 22XX... The Reploid Wars seem to have no end. Day after day, the violence picks up and the only new weapons certified to end wars only cause more destruction. The world, regardless of how much humans and reploids try to repair & rebuild, is slowly falling apart. Tau Cain, better known as "Fusion" is among the combatants of this war.
"I... I failed..." Fusion said as he sat down, head slightly turned towards the burning ruin behind him. It was a sign of his own failure. He had managed to succeed in endeavors mostly far more dangerous than those that X & Zero had ever encountered. "My friends... They never came. I guess I never really had allies at all..."
... Hours ago ...
"All hunter units, all hunter units, Code 6 in progress down at Central City. Suspected maverick arms dealers seen moving at dangerous speeds at 500 feet."
A black reploid, with gold designs & blue gems, riding a black & gold Ride Chaser responded "This is Fusion, I'm on the way," before picking up speed and beginning pursuit of the mavericks, the Ride Chaser's engines emitting a light blue jet thrust and dust in it's wake. Fairly soon, Fusion caught up to the arms dealing mavericks, who were sure enough using their weapons to shoot at him. Fusion pulled out his pistol and fired a few shots, disabling the mavericks' vehicle down to 1\4th of it's top speed.
A maverick popped out from the roof, and fired an explosive round 20 feet ahead of Fusion. "That... what are they doing? Trying to get theirselves killed!?" Fusion moved in to ram them into a building, while silently, the "bomb" landed on the roadway, and skittered accross the road. Fusion did not notice the bomb, and when it exploded. It tossed his Ride Chaser into a wall, by then it exploded, and slammed Fusion into a wall. A minute later a few other hunters raced by, and took on the mavericks.
... Hours later ...
The Mavericks had control of the city, and had announced that they were to blow the city up in one fell swoop by theirselves. Fusion slowly limped away from the city, having managed to get past maverick patrols. Fusion's body was badly damaged, his shades cracked, his facial skin bloodied up. The nearby city's lights turned dark minutes later, the formerly amazing city turning dead. The city was moments later engulfed in a blaze of fire as a giant explosion blew away most of the towers. "Damn... It was a key city, too..." Fusion slightly turned his head back to the blazing ruins... "I'm sorry... This time I could not save you, fellow humans and reploids. I should have gone with you..." Fusion said to himself, as he gave in to his emotions, and began to cry. He was, indeed, the reploid that had developed the most emotions... Fusion sat down roughly, crying not only because he had lost a battle he would have won, but because he failed, and an entire city's life was lost. "I... sob... Was that city's last hope..." Fusion said to himself quietly. It was the hunter's worst day on the job ever. "Please... If anybody can help me out of here... If anybody can hear me..."
"Fus...?" A golden-clad reploid, with silver spiked back hair, and a golden gem said. "M-Mon?" Fusion said, "It's me, Fus." Mon said. "I... I failed a city." Fusion said sadly, "It's alright," Mon said, then kneeled down to Fusion's level, "this'll just give you motivation to incr-" Mon said, interrupted by Fusion "Motivation!? I've suffered an emotional loss here! Those people depended on me! THE HUNTERS IN THAT CITY DEPENDED ON ME! I CAN'T JUST RECOVER FROM IT!" Fusion said in a fury of tears and anger. "Fusion... Come on. This place is getting to you." Mon said, You... You don't understand, Mon... That place was my home. Fusion thought, then said "My... My teleporter's busted." while in reality Fusion did not want to leave. Mon took Fusion's elbow, and teleported out with him. The fight against the mavericks today had resulted in a major loss...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, how dark is THAT for your tastes? I'd like to see someone make a comic out of that.

More fun-filled hellbound story!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Mon's laboratory, Fusion rests in a capsule, unarmored, only a bare exoskeleton making up his legs. Mon sits hard at work, repairing & refurnishing Fusion's damaged armor. Anything for his friend, and best ally... The Capsule opens, Fusion's internal systems & mechanics repaired fully.
"How's the restoration on my armor coming?" Fusion asked, Mon looked up, "you're lucky the explosion from that city didn't blow off a limb, Fus," Mon then returned to repairing Fusion's external armor "I'm surprised you weren't killed." Fusion crossed his arms, "that op had to be rigged. I know it. Why else would I have been easily taken down and the city destroyed soon afterwards?" he said with a questioning tone, turning his head to the right, looking at the wall, a gold-ish yellow scarf hanging from a nail pushed in to the wall. "Heh. I still remember my days as a rookie hunter." he said with a smirk.
... Meanwhile, elsewhere ...
X looked at the monitor in horror. This had been the biggest disaster since Eurasia. "An entire city... Gone!?" X exclaimed, "seems that way, X. Doesn't look like someone who participated on Photoshop Phridays." Zero said with a bit of a smartass tone, but not smirking. "Whoever did this... I won't let them get away!" X exclaimed once more. "Wow, X, I've never heard you so furious before. Are you sure you woke up on the right side of the bed?" Zero said with a smirk, "Don't try me right now, Zero." X said, "is X gonna cry?" Zero retorted, and then X turned around, and socked Zero on the face, even though that did no good. "...Gee, X, maybe I SHOULD stay off your bad side." Zero said, before backing off. Signas walked in moments later. "X, have we found anything new yet?" Signas said, X sighed disappointingly and shook his head, eyes closed. "I see. We're attempting to contact any remaining hunters that were in that city. So far, none have responded. It may be a total loss on that front." Signas then walked off.
... Back at the lab ...
Mon finished Fusion's armor. "That should do it, Fus. What's your next move?" Fusion looked to Mon, "I'll stay put and plan for a bit. Study events for a bit, and see if there's any sort of pattern. That strategy has worked in the past, and it's the reason I decided to take up vigilante Maverick hunting. I fight the real targets. Now, more than ever, I want to end this war." Fusion held up a hand, still unarmored. "Fus, before you go any further, put your armor back on." "Right." Fusion walked back and laid down in the capsule as Mon put Fusion's armor pieces in the capsule. The capsules soon both closed, moments later, Fusion's capsule opened, and he rose with his armor equipped. "Ah, feels good to be in the same old wear, only restored about 5 times." Fusion said, moving around a bit to make sure everything was fixed.
Mon looked at Fusion, standing up. "What do you think you will do next?" Fusion retorted "there's a reploid gang I think would know the answer. They've got connections with every maverick you can think of. Get me the heavy weapons. I'll talk to them that way. And if they don't comply, send out a false distress signal so the hunters will show up and wipe the floor with them. It'd jeapordize the objective, but that's just in case I feel like watching them die," Fusion said with a bit of a smirk, "but just in case, you keep an eye on the things around me, Mon. This mission is bound to be a fun one." Fusion then grinned. Then walked out of the lab, heading for a "briefing room" of sorts. His next job will be here soon...
Sorry if this seemed a bit lackluster, but I don't want this to be all doom & gloom for ol' Fus.
Thanks for the comments so far. Now I write this one to a different theme. THIS one has a load of references to Megaman 7, so watch out for them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is the day of the next job, where Fusion is to meet the reploid gang. It is a damp city, the skies dark as a thunderstorm rages, rain pouring like cats & dogs, loud cracks of thunder every now and then.
Fusion walked quietly on the wet sidewalk, the sewer drains nearly full of the rain that has been pouring non-stop for hours. Rumbles of thunder and the pattering of rain masked what noise he did make perfectly well. The streets were abandonded, not a human in sight. Abandoned rusted-down cars possibly 100 years old were among wreckage of far more rusted robots, most of which seemed to resemble variations of Metools. It was like this place used to be some sort of city. In the distance, a prison facility, that looked like a convict had blasted his way free by nearly destroying the entire facility.
Fusion reached an alleyway, and looked down the alley. Nothing. He brought his arm up level with his chin, and a panel slid to reveal a small screen. Fusion's CPU tuned the transmitter to a set frequency, and then contacted Mon. "Hey, Mon, I think that mission was a false alarm. I'm at the correct coordinates, but there's nobody here," Fusion then looked around a bit, "but I'm gonna scout the area for a few minutes, and if I don't find anything, I'll head back." Fusion, returned to his comm. Mon spoke, "Roger that, Fus. If you get in a jam, call me and I'll help you out of it." and then the transmission closed. Fusion then began to scout the area on foot.
Upon walking down an alleyway, he found a door. A oddly un-rusted door, appearing to still function. Fusion pulled up his comm, "Mon, I've found something suspicious. I'm going to check it out. If my comm goes dead, get over to my last location ASAP." then he ended transmission. Fusion activated his pistol, leaning up against a wall next to the door, and putting one of his hands to an access panel, I've gotta crack the code, he thought as he put his hand near 3 rows of buttons, numbered 1-9. He put in 3 sets of 4-digit codes: 1243, 7463, and 4377. The door unlocked and opened upon the entering of "4377." Fusion walked in slowly, the door sliding shut behind him.
The strange facility was rather well maintained, even though most of the paint was either scratched off badly. A few "skull" symbols as well was the letter "W" could be seen. Many robots lay as pure junk, some of them looking like they took a large pounding. Who could have done this? Fusion thought, as he broke down the door into a lab. Strange capsules, 8 to be exact, lie open and empty. A ninth capsule, however, with a large "Z" on top is closed. Fusion spied it and looked over. "Is this... What I think it is?" Fusion then looked around, and walked to the walls, flipping a switch and lights activating, illuminating the laboratory slowly. It was clear: Someone had used this to build robots in the past, and it was destroyed quite often.
Fusion opened his comm again, "Mon, do you read me?" Mon's image appeared on the mini-screen. "This is Mon, what's up, Fus?" "I've found a strange lab of some sort. There's 9 capsules, one of which has a large 'Z' on it." Mon's expression turned to surprise for a few seconds, then back to normal. "Right. Noted in the mission log." Mon said, before closing the comm. Fusion walked to one of the capsules, inspecting the inside. "This one was housed for a larger robot, probably made from spare parts..." Fusion looked over to the next capsule, "that one... Looks like it housed a spring-loaded gun... No, wait... Spring-loaded robot." Fusion looked at the rest of the capsules, and then walked over to the capsule with the Z on top. "I wonder if this capsule's still active..." Fusion walked to the control panel, and attempted to activate the panel. Much to his luck, it activated. Fusion attempted to get into the system, but all the panel would give him is 'Please enter capsule for further info.' Fusion took the risk, and opened up he capsule. He stepped in, and shut his systems down to allow.
Fusion's mind, after a minute or two, began to rush with images of Megaman X, how much a strange figure wanted X dead, and soon the images disappeared. Fusion felt pain all over his body... Was he being changed? Fusion reactivated, and tried to break free from the capsule, eyes open in terror as his body's internal configuration was changed. Near the process's finish, Fusion broke free from the restraints, and broke out of the capsule... He looked no different from the outside, but he knew he was drastically different inside. "What... Was that capsule?" Fusion said with a worried tone. "I saw images of X, images of X being murdered, a strange doctor, and now I don't feel right..." Fusion then sighed, "Fus... It's just trauma. It'll wear off." Fusion said as he contacted Mon again, "Mon, this is Fus. I... I've endured a bit of trauma. I'm returning to recuperate. Get a capsule ready." Mon got a surprised look on his face again, "What's the matter, Fus? What do you need a capsule for?" Mon asked, "I'm a bit worried..." Fusion said, "forget the mission! They weren't around." then he teleported back to base. He knew something about him was different. He just did.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And thus the story gets even DEEPER and DARKER than before!
Cool. You left us hanging at the end, is he going to kill x now or something? By the way, how is this not suitable for children to view?
I put it as (Not suitable for kids) because of the VERY dark themes used. Generally, most parents don't let their kids watch stuff that's far too serious and wouldn't be considered "family friendly."
Are you planning on including this very dark stuff later? What we've seen so far I'd consider suitable for kids.
Okay, since I can't figure out how to move the plot ahead, I'll reflect on Fusion's past.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
All this hell the world's come to... It makes me miss the old days... Fusion thought, as he began to gunder under a system diagnostic...
...Many years before...
Fusion stood before a large mechaniloid, terrified, and after having shot at it 3 times, none of the shots worked. He stepped back. "Damn! Nothing's working!" He shivered slightly, "I'm gonna die!" Fusion took a few more steps back, stumbling a bit as one of the 4-legged Mechaniloid's legs almost smashed him. He had to figure out what to do, otherwise he was a goner... Fusion began to flee, running from the Mechaniloid which pursued closely. They ran for blocks, until Fusion took a wrong turn and ended up at a dead end. Fearing for his life, he backed against the wall. Firing a few more shots, all of which failing. Before he could go into a defensive posture, a large figure blasted through the wall and cut the generator of the Mechaniloid in two, the mechaniloid deactivating within moments.
He stood tall. "Are you alright?" He asked, Fusion looked up. It was Sigma. "Sigma... Thank you for saving me." Fusion stood up. "You seem to have ran from this one a lot. You're still a young reploid, you shouldn't get ahead of yourself," Sigma said with his usual adviseful tone, "you're not Zero yet, so don't try and be him." Fusion looked down a bit, "I understand. But why come out of your way for me?" Sigma looked down to Fusion, "Look up, kid," he said, Fusion looking up to Sigma, "you're like the recently discovered X, you have quite a bit of potential. But unlike X, you don't hesitate to fight, you fight, but you hold back. You don't need to hold back your power." Sigma tried to assure Fusion, "no, I need to hold back! What if I killed innocents!?" Fusion exclaimed, "you have a point, but if it need be, sacrifice what you must to win the day. In rare cases, whatever you have to."
Sigma cut open the mechaniloid, pulling out a sword-type weapon. He handed it to Fusion. "Here," he said, "this sword is basically what will pass for your rookie weapon. Until you know how to use a pistol, I think you would be good at close range combat." Fusion looked at the saber, turning it on, and slashing the concrete wall behind him a few times, then turning around and noticing that Sigma had left... "Sig...ma?" Fusion exclaimed, before realizing that he was alone. "Looks like I have to use this weapon..."
...Back in the present...
Old memories... Sigma was my friend back then... Now he's just an enemy. He gave me some helpful advice... But it's nothing compared to what I know now. Fusion's diagnostic soon completed, reporting that there had been a major amount of changes in his armor system. "Changes in my armor? I don't see anything..." Fusion then stood up out of the capsule, and then walked off...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry if it seemed a little lackluster...
