I can't really confirm any of this just now... but there have been some hints of a playable version of Chaos.

And now, for some legendary commentary, from The Legend Himself. Bartz vs Gilgamesh - Freelancer Bartz looks cooler than I anticipated, and with those new moves I might actually use him. Gilgamesh, however, didn't impress me as much as I had hoped. But his EX mode did look interesting for the 5 seconds you got to see it, so I won't pass judgement yet. Prishe vs Cloud of Darkness - Prishe hits hard and fast, but I'll probably pick Tifa for my monk. And is it just me, or did CoD's HP attacks get faster in general? Especially Wide Particle Beam. Lightning vs Garland - I've heard nothing but great things about Lightning, and this video holds true to most of them. It'll take some getting use to with the Paradigm Shifts, but she still looks badass. And, just like Bartz, Amano Garland looks cooler in-game than I anticipated. Laguna vs Ultimecia - Laguna grows on me with each video I see. A true gunner in Dissidia will either be really refreshing or overly cheap and broken, but as long as the English voice actor is entertaining enough, I can overlook it. Didn't see alot of new stuff from Time Bitch, and I naturally hate the Edea outfit on principle. She's not Edea, she's Ultimecia. Firion vs Emperor Mateus - Both of them look great with their new moves. Firion is still pretty ground based, but the way he was using the Assist feature more than makes up for it. And I love Mateus' new traps, and the fact that he actually has an HP attack trap is fantastic. Mateus was an interesting challenge to play before, now he'll just be plain fun. Yuna vs Jecht - First off, I'm impressed SE pulled it off, effectively adding Summoner Yuna that is. She reminds me of Golbez in the fact that she's sort of a mage, but fights like a melee character. It's an interesting combination that looks like alot of fun to play. Nothing new from Jecht in that one, other than his FFX-accurate outfit. Which I hate, cause they got rid of his red 'n black outfit.... Kain vs Golbez - Kain actually looks kinda challenging to play as effectively, but it looks like a fun and rewarding challenge. And, just like Firion, that Assist combo looks downright dangerous. Kain will probably be one of the first characters I try. Golbez's new HP attack looks pretty. Hope it's more effective than that video made it look. Tifa vs Sephiroth - So far, I prefer Tifa to Prishe for Dissidia's premire monk. Her moves flow really well, and she seems like she can really dish out the damage. Also, I didn't know she knew Instant Transmission...? The Aerith assist looks pretty varied and useful, I hope the US gets it too. Only new thing I saw from Sephiroth was his FF7-accurate outfit and that quick brave attack, which looks like a good keep-away move if you need the space. Overall, I'm pleased with what's been added, and how all the new characters look. Just one more month, and we'll be able to enjoy all of this ourselves. And you probably won't see or hear from me for a few months....

I'm pretty much gonna have to agree on all counts. I'm actually fairly excited to give Lightning a try, and Bartz looks a lot cooler with his new moves. Gilgamesh was, yeah, not as great as all the hype seemed to be building up to....
Whore of Darkness' HP attacks did look a lot faster. They have longer delays at the beginning, but they fire off a lot quicker once they get going, it seems.
From what I can tell Laguna seems pretty terrible in the air, for the most part, but I'm no stranger to keeping things on the ground so he may be kinda fun to play as.
Firion I was kinda worried about cause all I had heard for a long time was that they planned on giving him a "major overhaul." Which, this video seems to demonstrate he's still mostly the same. The only noticeable differences so far (at least from what I've seen) are that his Bow move is now an extension from Reel Axe instead of the HP Link (actually he may have both, which is even better cause Reel Axe kinda sucked before), and he can do the continuation of his spear move without actually hitting with the first half of the attack. Which seems like welcome changes.
And, the Aerith assist looks a little hax... But I guess if you're an assist only character you gotta have some kind of perks.
One actual gameplay change I noticed that I like is, how they changed the dashing. In the first game, if you dashed, it took you off the ground and straight to the enemy. That had it's uses but it always kinda bugged me that if you wanted to close the distance really quick and pop off an attack, it had to be an aerial one cause if you dash, you're in the air, no matter what. From the looks of it, if you're on the ground when you dash you're limited cause your altitude doesn't adjust to match the enemy, but you can move from side to side and go from a dash into a ground attack. So while it may take some getting used to at first, I think I'm gonna really like that.

And... Now I guess I can feel great about pre-ordering this.
Yes... All that's left now is to wait.

Ok, after that video, I think Gilgamesh looks slightly more tolerable, especially in EX mode. I'm kinda hoping that the person playing the game isn't that good, and that Gilgamesh is actually far more useful than that. If nothing else, he'll make an interesting punching bag.

He does look better after that one. His EX Burst looks like a pain in the ass, though... Out of all those swords, only one is right, and if you miss you only do 1 damage? Gonna need some pretty good timing. I still can barely do Tidus and Jecht's EX Bursts though, so Gilgamesh would just be a problem.

So it seems at the start of the game, a moogle asks you a question. You have to be very careful when answering this question because one of the options leads to this.
Of course, I have no idea what answer leads to that or even what the question is. So the only way to find out what one to avoid is to use SCIENCE!!!

I just played DDFF jap for 5 days... and... Scenario 012 (Treachery of the Gods) is the prequel of DFF which only features the 5 new characters+ stan then after beating that Scenario 013 (Light of All) is the original DFF X( WHY Square Enix WHY!?!?!? well you can use the Prologus save to get some accessories to buy at least.. 5 accessory slots and 9 level ups my higest level is Laguna, which is 45 Squall's first HP attacks are -Rough Divide ground -Aerial Circle you can now save replay datas in story mode you can now control the direction in omni airslide unlike in the first game that you have to press R+Triangle again to change direction KP is used to trade stuff from moogles instead of DP for extra PP you get to fight Desperado chaos if you choose the second option with the moogle at the start of the game... I can't really confirm any of this just now... but there have been some hints of a playable version of Chaos. yes, it's confirmed in DDFF some attacks absorb(you get closer even if after dodge) spoiler to much?
