Paragon, please reread the rules of the Contreversial board. You're allowed to debate here, but you have to show respect for other people's views. Using crude language and calling people idiots is not permitted. >.>;
As for my view on the doomsday issue... Well, eventually the sun IS going to change, cause that's what stars do, they go through phases. Either the sun is going to turn into a red giant and burn us all to death, or it's gonna shrink into a white dwarf, and we'll all freeze to death. It's inevitable.
That won't happen for another several thousand, even million years though. <.<;
Anything else killing us all seems highly unlikely to me.

When you're having a debate where you're using science as a backing, and someone brings Religion into it. They're proving their stupidity. You can't debate something with science against religion, it's practically impossible.
So now, I will continue to call people idiots for that reason.

You said that it's absurd to debate science v. religion, but whether that's a fact or not, other people have different opinions to this. They think they have their reasons to make this possible, and there's no reason for you to call them as idiots due to their thoughts. What they think may not be wrong, but whatever you mentioned isn't wrong too. So, doing so will just make you and the other side call idiots towards each other. Not worth it though. The only point i want to voice out is each of us have our own opinions and point of view. We should respect each of them without despicing or looking down on them. Science v. Religion may be impossible to be brought into a debate, but if people have their own reasonable reasons, there's no right for you to call them idiots, or any words worse than this. No offence to those people still standing strong to defend that Science v. Religion exists, all ZV members, and Paragon.

idiots=paragons opinion. paragon has his right to an opinion. carbon dating/some science is flawed. when did the ice age really happen? global warming? suck the end of a muffler. taste nice? think its good for earth n should move freely in the air? ironically jesus (if real) as i understand was against organized religion no? my theory is we are simple extraordinary huge equations/#'s in some equation/language. basically language continues to grow and repeats. time becomes nothing. you have no soul. you die forever. you are constant and will last forever. doomsday will happen an infinite amount of times. binary is not possible. my answer=? Deja vu?

Interesting idea there Rellik...
But as far as doomsday goes, yes it will happen. There are may ways it can happen. Such as:
- Our sun is nothing more than a star, it will go supernova eventually (maybe in 12 billion years... but still it will.)
- Nuclear war, enough nukes get launched to cause a nuclear winter to black out the sun and kill all the plants
- We further become parasites on the planet, we over populate and destroy it.
- Evolution happens and we either get replaced or evolve into something new.
- Massive meteor impact
among other ways.
So it is going to happen but how we are going to be wiped out is the only question. As far as the bible and religion goes, Believe it all you want, it still doesn't make it true nor you right in every situation. (And as for why all the planets aren't sucked into the sun because of a magnetic field? think of how far apart they are and then of how immensely powerful the field would have to be to do it. Take earth, it's 5.9736×10^24 kg in mass and to be sucked into the sun it'd have to be pulled 147,098,074 km... Thats alot of weight to be pulled a long way. Now I'm no nuclear physicist but I'm pretty sure that even with the sun's power it couldn't generate enough of a magnetic field to suck Mercury in, let alone the Earth.)
As far as Aliens go, We can't be the only species in the universe to have sentience and ( for atleast some of us ) intelligent thought.

I believe deeply that one day that all things shall come to pass, and that time shall be known as Armageddon (Doomsday). War will plague us all, And cosmic events will pass and further damage our planet. I believe that eventually all sentient life will be eradicated by the time science evolves to such an extent cyberbrain technology is invented. With a collective unconciousness yet to be "tapped into", all the minds in the world will snap at the same exact moment, and create a massive empathic storm so intense that it will drive our bodies to exert so much adrenaline into our bloodstream that it poisons us and we all die at roughly the same time. one fell swoop. a Psychic death that no skeptic of any kind can look over and say "THAT DID NOT HAPPEN" because when it happens, it's because we've stepped over the line of science and into something best left alone.

When humanity figures out how to make magick work again, the world as we know it is ####ed. Lol! And who wants to wait till that day? Besides, to believe in the existance in Doomsday doesn't mean you must be scientific of racist or relligious. Science and relligion are just facts and points of evidence. Minority of us here mistook this meaning though. (Hey, if you think that 'minority' doesn't include you, don't try and flame or spam...>.>) And yes i still believe in this day though. At least to believe is better than not to believe.

How about the day when we blow ourselves up with this "new technology" we have? >>; May be sooner than Nightmare's thought.

Every people has their own opinion on every thing even tho it is from different aspects. As a good human being we should respect those opinions even tho it have a lil bit of religious issue in it.

Might be old, but I have something worht arguing again.
Ecc 1:4 of the Bible states "A generation comes and goes (or someting like that), but the Earth is forever".
Doesn't taht disprove that Armageddon of Earthly destruction will happen? I think this is the only part in any religion to state that Earth is not meant for destruction.
