Unfortunatelly, you can't trust most documentaries nowdays. Micheal Moore ruined that, passing off propaganda and words taken out of context as fact.

Documentaries are just like an opinion now. People just use facts and quotes that work towards them and hide everything else

Does that mean that National Geographic and Science reports should be considered not trustworthy in your point?

anything not witnessed first hand might as well be void. but yeah alotta statistics are basically rumours ex: "98% of teenage population has tried smoking pot" but ive seen solar power. it works and doesnt f#ck the earth. dunno much bout core fusion but sounds like there could be a flaw we dont see yet, and whats next ? core fision. besides hydro companies will rape as much money as they can off it. get solar/wind power the u can sell the electricity.

Sigh .. almost all statistics are not lies. If one person puts lies in statistics, the entire populations of your nations will pay for the consequences. Just as much as the American government denies that global warming is real, and as the result, I'm seeing snow in Arizona and higher temperatures, and perhaps more deaths.
Nuclear energy currently works on fission - practiced since WW2. It's fusion that's new, because it releases far more enrgy than fission.
Discuss as you please see fit, but just remember that some facts are absolute truth.

Discuss as you please see fit, but just remember that some facts are absolute truth. True, but that has been a known fact for 50 years. Global warming on the other hand is not a fact, its a theory. There is a major difference and absolutly can't trust people to tell you things about the world. They're all being payed to tell you somthing, and that dosn't mean it has to be true. As for ice melting? Ok, we've been having record snow fall and cold winters nation wide. And from what i can tell the rest of the world is doing fine. Dose anyone else notice that the world is going under "considerable change?"

Recent news.
Scientists have discovered that warm-water terrestials such as hard shelled crabs have begun migration south of the Equator and were spotted in waters close to the Antartic regions. Concern is primarily due to the fact that Antartic water has always been cold, the creatures are soft and lack any mode of protection against intruders of their home which has been that way for millions of years for the vulnerable creatures.
Point is: isn't it proof that the Antartic is warming up due to global warming, and that allowed warm water terrestials to move in and threaten the homeland creatures to extinction?
Saw this on BBC and CNN a few days ago.

Couldn't just be that it got warmer this year? Kinda like how each year we go through 4 different seasons every year in which it gets hotter and colder as the planet tilts toward and away from the sun? Aside from that, there are potentially billions of animals world wide that remain undiscovered and who knows how many of them may have become extinct years before "Global Warming." Take a look at the woolly mammoth and all the other ice age era animals that aren't around today. For some reason, it got really freaking cold. Animal's adapted. Then it got warm and they died. And from what I have learned, Fred Flinstone's car was all foot powered and didn't cause green house gases, so what melted the three miles of ice that covered several parts of the planet?

the climate calmed down after time passed, thats what ended the ice age..

so when the ice ages come, everyone says it cuz of nature and everything god a bit cold, but then when everything is maybe even 1 degree warmer, which is a trend that's been happening for a while, it's all our fault. I agree we need to cut greenhouse gas emissions, but thats not because of global warming, it just cuz I'd rather breath in O2 that a sh*t load of carbon monoxide

How about we that a leaf out of Futurama's book and cause a Nuclear Winter? That way, they'll cancel eachother out! =D

Hey and in the process we take out Iran. Its a win win situation!

... Iran is not related to global warming. Why do you Americans hate Iran so much? Is it of the nuclear issue or the American hostage thing?
And if you want to breath in oxygen with lots of carbon monoxide all the time, I'd say you'd die sooner than expected. Simply put, you do not understand how toxic carbon monoxide is to your body.
And no offense, another ice age is more likely not going to come. An ice age can only come when the volcanoes are spewing out too much ash to block sunlight, decreases earth temperatures and it was during a period when there was too much water on Earth.
The current situation is the exact opposite.
For the record, even if another ice age came, we won't be able to survive it because its damages was done worst when there were no humans on the planet yet. Neither you nor I can survive.
And I don't think the Controversial thread is sort of the jokey jokey type.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Global warming is a load of crap. The Earth naturally gets hotter and colder through time due to it's orbit; sometimes the Earth orbits closer to the sun some years than others. It's been proven that it naturally gets hotter and colder, and that is always has, and likely always will.
People complain about getting hotter, but if you ask me, it's getting colder. This has been one of the coldest winters I've had in a long time. Does that mean there's another ice age? No. The likelyhood of the next ice age is the same as global warming melting the ice caps and killing us all; it ain't gonna happen.
If you ask me, Global Warming is nothing more than Democrat Scare tactics. They wanna say "Oh, did you know that the Earth is getting hotter, and it's gonna kill us!? The Republicans don't know, but we know about it, and wanna do something about it and protect you!" and idiots out there say "Hey! I've noticed that it's hot in here! He's right!" and buy into that bullshit.
But I guess that bit is an arguement for another thread. Regardless, my view on Global Warming is simply that it's nothing. The theory behind what Global Warming is gonna do to us is asanine, and that any increased heat is natural, that it's not out fault, and will get better with time as it always has.

Hmmm ... global warming is not just an issue of Democrats or Republicans, it's a global issue, as its first word implies.
I know what I am saying when I say that Nightmare is correct concerning the part of the Earth's orbits and the slight imbalance between hot and cold. But allow me to propose here - the population of Earth is billions more than it was 100 000 years ago, we consistently breath out CO2 and yet, our forests are gone very fast.
We all know what trees do to the air cycle, so I don't need to say it here.
With lack of trees and such, free CO2 builds up and I know what I'm saying when I say this - CO2 is a heat insulator - it holds heat, and when more of them builds up, the heat builds up as well.
This plus the orbital slight imbalance of weather by the Earth's rotation - causes hot to be hotter and cold to be colder. Sounds ridiculous to you, but I'm a science freak.
