Ummm....just for the record guys. Its Carbon Dioxide not Carbon Monoxide.
Carbon Dioxide to current date makes up exactly 0.03811% of the earths atmosphere. That is an extremely small amount compared to the 78.0842% of Nitrogen, 20.9463% Oxygen, 0.93422% Argon, 1% water, and then there is the remaining 0.002% of random gases.
Seriously, I'm not that worried about our C02 production. Volcanoes alone dwarf our production of greenhouse gases each year.

Hmmm ... global warming is not just an issue of Democrats or Republicans, it's a global issue, as its first word implies. I know what I am saying when I say that Nightmare is correct concerning the part of the Earth's orbits and the slight imbalance between hot and cold. But allow me to propose here - the population of Earth is billions more than it was 100 000 years ago, we consistently breath out CO2 and yet, our forests are gone very fast. We all know what trees do to the air cycle, so I don't need to say it here. With lack of trees and such, free CO2 builds up and I know what I'm saying when I say this - CO2 is a heat insulator - it holds heat, and when more of them builds up, the heat builds up as well. This plus the orbital slight imbalance of weather by the Earth's rotation - causes hot to be hotter and cold to be colder. Sounds ridiculous to you, but I'm a science freak. So all we gotta do is kill a few million people? (Or at least tell people not to breathe so much or so heavily...) Great, lets start with the criminals and work up to volunteers (aka the suicidal) then the emos and finally religious extremists who would die for their causes. And just for the fun of it maybe a few politicians and a certain lawyer... (Not all lawyers/politicians though because they are important. ) That oughta bring the emissions levels down some...

It's not a global issue if it's bullshit.
Our forests aren't going anywhere. For every tree that's cut down, two more are planted. The loggers don't wanna run out of business anymore than anybody else. But again, that's an issue for another thread. >.>;
The Earth heating up is not an issue (assuming it even is). It's not even something that deserves any attention other than "Sheesh, it's kinda hot today."

Proper human activity conduct. And that is all.
Carbon emission controls is the best solution for now. Industry releases more carbon than rice fields do (in the form of methane - but as said it's not so threatening compared to factories). Any activity in which unhealthy black smoke is released should be stopped. It's a very big scale thing - I don't expect anyone here to understand that.
And that'd be all.

You know, we wouldn't have to worry about any of the evil black smoke if the lousy hippies out there would let us convert to nuclear power. Nuclear power is less damaging to the enviroment, more efficient, and produces way more power than alternative energy sources. For every nuclear plant, it'd take several of anything else to compare with it. And despite popular belief, nuclear plants aren't dangerous. There's the risk of getting hurt by the radiation if the plant were to explode (which is what everyone is afraid of) but anything is dangerous if it explodes, and a nuclear plant isn't any more likely to explode than anything else, so everyone should just quit bitching and let us convert to nuclear energy.
But once again, that's a rant for another topic. Still it holds some relevance here.

Well, this thread is about global warming and how we humans have to manage the cycle of heat. Nuclear energy does hold a little relevance here, since it uses hot water vapour generated from the rods to spin turbines to make energy.
The moment everyone stops disagreeing, get along and say "Hey, the heat is going out of control" and resolve to work together, the problem is solved.

That post made like no sense. o.o;
But yeah. I'm not sure I could state my opinion any clearer. Global Warming is all a bunch of bologna, and not the good kind.

Sounds miraculous. But when it said record levels of Antartic sea ice, does it mean melting or forming...? After years of reporting that Antartic and Artic cies are melting and that of Africa, it's a little hard to believe that they would suddenly freeze up like that.
Perhaps the sea is regaining its usefulness it used to have. Maybe. But this can only be temporary. Tomorrow it may be hotter than today.

Tomorrow it may be hotter than today. been getting like that where i live, but then again, even if global warming is real or not, there's heeps of things that can stop it but 4 main ones 1. kill all humans, after all, if we was all dead, no global warning, simple? 2. drop giant cubes of ice, like of futurama, but then the sea still rises 3. shoot statlites to control the atmosphear, like off Submarine Commander, it eneded up returning the world back to normal after global warming 4. put research into making radiation shiled that can coat a human to protect them form radiation, then make one to cover the nuclear power plant, then put research into getting rid off the waist than there you go, no hippie or anyone else can complain about nuclear powerplants

It's not that Global Warming is getting better, or that Global Cooling is taking place. The Earth Naturally gets hotter and colder. That's just how it goes. The Earth got hotter for awhile, and now it's getting colder. It's nothing to panic about, and there's nobody to blame it on. It's just a natural occurance. <.<;

On a side note I wish to ask - CO2 is a well-known heat insulator (it keeps heat contained) but does anyone here know the role of our oceans in respect to CO2?

Know what's funny? That research was proven %100 accurate because today the difference between the low and the high was a mere 3 degress. My area has been below freezing all day. The only reason snow had melted was because the sun popped out.
