Posting this now because I don't know when we're getting English info for it... another new Pokemon! From what I can tell, its Japanese name is "Oorotto"... and it's some kind of evil cyclops demon tree. So I'm saying either Grass/Ghost or Grass/Dark. Maybe Grass/Fairy... because that would be hilarious.

Alright... latest batch of info has be released in English, time to go over what it has. Let's start with new Pokemon, like always. Dedenne, the Antenna Pokemon... An Electric/Fairy type that is easily recognized by its round shape. It has a new ability called "Cheek Pouch", making it so it regains HP whenever it uses a berry in battle. And is also the gen's Pikachu clone... so not really anything all that special. Bunnelby, the Digging Pokemon... A Normal type that is said to dig its den using its large ears. Not much to say about this one... it can have Cheek Pouch as well, but that's really it. Skiddo, the Mount Pokemon... A gentle-natured Grass type that is said to be the first Pokemon to live along side humans, and have been used as pack animals for some time. It also evolves into the mighty Gogoat. And with that, we move on to new features... We finally have information on Super Training. It appears to be a way to make Pokemon gain EV's (Effort Values), a hidden attribute that effects stat growth, easily. As well as make EV's more visible. And now... I know you all have been talking about this... I'm gonna cover Mega Evolutions. Pokemon get stronger from evolving, but not all Pokemon can evolve... so their strength is limited. But with a Mega Evolution, a new kind of evolution never seen before, a Pokemon that normally is unable to evolve can boost their power greatly. However, it is only temporary. Mega Evolutions are triggered during battle, if a Pokemon is holding a matching "Mega Stone". Let's go over the Pokemon that we know have a Mega Evolution and what's different about them. Mewtwo, the Genetic Pokemon... When it becomes Mega Mewtwo... the normal ability it has, Pressure, is replaced by Insomnia... making it so Mega Mewtwo is unable to fall asleep in battle. Mewtwo is already a huge threat when in battle, but with the boost it gains to its Special Attack after Mega Evolving... it becomes an even bigger threat. Lucario, the Aura Pokemon... Mega Lucario has the ability Adaptability, meaning that any moves it uses that are the same type as it (Fighting and Steel) will gain an addition damage bonus greater than the one they would normally get. Blaziken, the Blaze Pokemon... Mega Blaziken get's Blaziken's old Dream World ability, Speed Boost... in battle, it gains a buff to its speed stat at the end of every turn. Many seem to believe that this ability made Blaziken over powered... so with it and the stat boosts of Mega Evoltion behind it... Mega Blaziken is going to be a force to be reckoned with. I should also mention that starting on October 12th there will be a wi-fi event giving out a Torchic holding Blazikenite, the item needed for Blaziken to Mega Evolve. And while there are more Mega Pokemon... they don't appear to be on the official website yet. So, they'll have to wait until later.

I wasn't planning on doing this... but I figured, why the hell not? I'm going to go over the Mega Evolutions that are not yet on the official site, but have been shown through other official sources. And I'm actually going to start with the most recent one. Kangaskhan, the Parent Pokemon... This one is interesting. Instead of Kangaskhan itself Mega Evolving, it seems that the Mega Evolution only affects the baby Kangaskhan... making it larger and having it leave the pouch. It gains a brand new ability called "Parental Bond". With it, Mega Kangaskhan is able to attack twice in one turn... makes sense considering there is two of them now. Ampharos, the Light Pokemon... With a new hair style that looks right at home in an 80's glam rock band, Mega Ampharos has some neat changes. Mainly that of a new typing... becoming Electric/Dragon. It also has the ability Mold Breaker, meaning that its opponent's ability can't alter the effectiveness of its moves. Mawile, the Deceiver Pokemon... Much like Mega Ampharos, Mega Mawile comes with new typing... Steel/Fairy. However, unlike the electric sheep-dragon with the luxurious locks, normal Mawile gets this new typing as well. And it gains the ability Huge Power, doubling its Attack stat. Pairing that with the boost to Physical and Special defense that it gains, it will be able to take damage as well as dish it out. Absol, the Disaster Pokemon... This is the best. It is easily the best. I don't even care that the games aren't out yet... X and Y are getting a 10/10. ...What? Absol is my favorite Pokemon. Why wouldn't I be happy that its getting a buff? Anyways... actual information. Apart from its new look and the boost it gains to Physical Attack and Speed, Mega Absol gains the ability Magic Bounce. This means that when targeted with various non-damaging moves, it's gonna be sent right back at its opponent.

Just a note: Mawile doesn't gain the Fairy type when it Mega Evolves. Mawile's type as a whole has been changed to Steel/Fairy.

Pretty sure I mentioned that... also, updated the art work for Absol, Mawile, and Ampharos as they have been added to the official website... and added some more information.

The way it's written makes it seem like Mawile gains the Fairy type only when it Mega Evolves, but either way it's not particularly a big deal.

The Pokemon Direct has just ended... and here is all the news from it.
A new 3DS app called "Pokemon Bank" will be released. With it, you will be able to store Pokemon from X & Y on the internet... adding 100 additional box, meaning you can store a total of 3,000 Pokemon. There will also be an add-on for this app called Poke Transporter, that will allow you to store Pokemon from the Gen 5 games and move them to X & Y. However, an annual fee is needed to use Pokemon Bank... it will be 500 yen in Japan, and if prices remain the same for different regions... it could be about $5. Gen 1 starters are obtainable later in the game and all three will receive a Mega Evolution. Mega Evolutions also seem to have a connection to the black bracelet that the main characters wear, called the "Mega Ring" that contains something called a "Key Stone". Special edition red and blue 3DS XLs will be released in North America on September 27th.
Gen 1 Mega Starters. Venusaur, the Seed Pokemon... Venusaur gains a boost to it's defensive stats after Mega Evolution. But not only that, it gains the Thick Fat ability... nullifying it's weakness to Fire and Ice type attacks. Charizard, the Flame Pokemon... Mega Evolution gives Charizard's Special Attack a nice boost. It also gets the Drought ability, causing intense sunlight to appear on the battlefield... buffing his Fire Type moves. Blastoise, the Shellfish Pokemon... Packing more fire power than ever before, Mega Blastoise gets the new Mega Launcher ability. With it, pulse moves (such as Dark Pulse and Water Pulse) get a nice boost in damage.
The Mega Ring in action... along with the gen 1 starters.

Again, I am shown how much better all of the Mega Evolutions look in motion than in their artwork. All three of these looked really stupid to me from their pictures, but in-game they're actually not bad. Mega Charizard is actually pretty cool, and Mega Venasaur's new ability is OP.

It seems that we were given a quick look at a new Pokemon during the direct... it was only visible for a split second and it wasn't pointed out, so it was really hard to miss. Not really sure what it is or what it could be... but it sure is a thing that exists. ... I'm gonna call it "Carl".

The reason this is important is because you actually get two starter Pokemon.
Apparently its your character's friend that gives you Chespin, Fenekin or Froakie. After this is when the Professor shows up and lets you pick Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle.
